Staying at home has given many of us more time to try new recipes. Cooking is no longer a chore, but an activity for many. Comfort food is not only delicious and (to state the obvious) comforting. All of us need something to boost our mood in these times. We hope that you enjoy this Banana Bread recipe send in by Financial Advisor Wendy Turk.

Banana Bread
¾ cup of sugar
¼ cup oil or apple sauce to substitute
2 large eggs
2 large bananas, mashed
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking soda
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).

Mix the cream, sugar, oil/applesauce, and eggs together until fluffy. Then, fold in mashed bananas.

Sift dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

Add banana mixture, chocolate chips, and walnuts to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

Pour batter into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

Bake the bread for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the loaf comes out clean.
