BIO
Chase McCormick is a Social Media & Events Coordinator with Gerber Kawasaki. Chase is proud to hail from Detroit, Michigan, and credits Motown for shaping his resilience, team-first mentality, and passion for the arts.
Chase is a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television, where he majored in Screenwriting and minored in African-American Studies. He enjoys writing alternative history films in which the “good guys” seek revenge over wicked historical figures.
While studying at LMU, Chase spent three years working at Loyola Productions Inc. as an Executive Producer’s Assistant, where he helped develop Russell Crowe’s recent film The Pope’s Exorcist. He also interned at Plastic Tree Pictures, where he worked on set for multiple award-winning independent films such as Nick Richey’s 1-800-Hot-Nite.
Chase found his passion for social media marketing when he began managing the Instagram for LMU’s beloved therapy dog Buster. Through his strategically comedic posts, he was able to grow the account to reach audiences far beyond campus. He also managed the social media marketing for his sketch comedy group, Sorry In Advance, which led to four sold-out shows. As a long-time beneficiary of GK’s TikTok segment MarketsWithMia, Chase knew he wanted to join the team in order to help others learn financial literacy the way Mia did for him.
In his free time, Chase enjoys painting, fine dining, and traveling to the beach. Recently, he started his own clothing company “Big and Bleached” where he up-cycles extra-large shirts and hoodies using bleach paint.
