Joanna Baca is the Tax and Accounting Administrator at Gerber Kawasaki. With over six years of experience in finance, accounting, tax and auditing, Joanna has honed her skills in both the entertainment and corporate sectors. Joanna has excelled in roles ranging from Finance & Accounting Intern to Senior Internal Auditor. Her ability to communicate complex financial insights effectively has earned her recognition as a trusted financial professional. Joanna’s passion for finance extends beyond accounting. As part of the Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management Tax and Accounting team, her goal is to be a dynamic asset, not only in tax services but across multiple financial disciplines. She is committed to empowering clients to achieve their maximum financial potential through strategic planning, insightful analysis, and tailored solutions that meet their unique needs.
Joanna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a concentration in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as well as received her Associates Degree in Accounting from College of the Canyons. She is currently pursuing her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure. Skilled in platforms such as Tableau, SQL, Excel, and QuickBooks, Joanna combines technical proficiency with a drive to make meaningful contributions to clients and her team.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Joanna comes from a supportive, hardworking family that has given her the foundation of resilience and determination. As the first in her family to go to college, Joanna's purpose is to be a powerful example for future generations. Inspired by her older sister and role model, Joanna strives to emulate her sister' values and pass them forward, helping other women realize their potential and build successful careers. Her ultimate mission is to empower women of all ages and backgrounds, both professionally and personally, by offering mentorship, actionable financial strategies, and inspiration to achieve financial independence and long-term success.
Beyond her professional achievements, Joanna is deeply committed to her community. She mentors underserved high school students through Motivating Our Students Through Experience (MOSTe) and supports the LAUSD Homeless Education Program, distributing essential scholastic resources to elementary students on Skid Row. Her dedication to personal growth and professional excellence ensures that she will continue to be a key resource at Gerber Kawasaki, helping clients build and secure their financial futures.
