Steven Gui is an Investment Advisor Representative with Gerber Kawasaki. He was born and raised in China in the Shenzhen financial district where his family owned a tech company. He finished elementary school in China before moving to California in 2006 without speaking any English. Steven learned English at the age of 12 and simultaneously realized his love for aerospace engineering.
While his family was already very involved in the finance industry, Steven chose to deepen his knowledge of engineering by earning a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering from California State University: Northridge. Upon graduation, his interest in the research and development of technology shifted to the finance of building business machines. Studying engineering taught him valuable problem-solving skills that he still uses today in his career as a financial advisor.
Steven is fluent in both the English and Chinese languages and credits his childhood abroad to his understanding of the cultural nuances that exist for Chinese-Americans today.
When Steven is not assisting clients, he loves to skate by the beach or catch a Lakers or Dodgers game. In addition to being a basketball and baseball fan, he is also a huge fan of competitive gaming! He not only watches e-sports, but he also participates in competitive team-based gaming.
